RMUG® is dedicated to the advancement of rapid microbiological methods in the pharmaceutical industry. This is because the newer, more rapid methods should facilitate the more rapid analysis of pharmaceutical raw materials and products for microbiological quality. The expectation is the data from the rapid methods should also be of higher quality in terms of accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and the other standard validation parameters.The application of the rapid methods to environmental monitoring, aseptic processing, and other related areas is also important.
Committees
RMUG®makes use of two standing committees to oversee its efforts. The first of these is the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee provides guidance on what areas the RMUG® should focus on, i.e. which exhibitors to include, evaluate and make improvements to conferences, serve as officers and function as a Board of Directors for the RMUG®. The Steering Committee requires a one-year commitment, and, since it is a not-for-profit organization, all expenses are incurred by you. The Steering Committee members are required to attend at least two conferences (at own expense). Committees will generally meet before and after the conferences and attend meetings by teleconferencing. If you are involved with the Steering Committee, you cannot be involved in the Program Committee.
The second standing committee is the Program Committee. The Program Committee is responsible for booking speakers and working on details for a specific conference or conferences. The Program Committee requires a one-year commitment, and, since it is a not-for-profit organization, all expenses are incurred by you. The Program Committee members are required to attend at least two conferences (at own expense). Committees will generally meet before and after the conferences and attend meetings by teleconferencing. If involved with the Program Committee you cannot be involved in the Steering Committee.
